There are two questions men we hate being asked. First, your boss sees you late Friday afternoon and asks "Can you come in on Saturday. We need to get a proposal done by Monday." The other question is well intended, but no less annoying. It’s the dreaded, "What are you thinking?" Let me give you three reasons why guys hate this

Most of the time, men are really just thinking random thoughts that have nothing to do with you. If we told you half of the thoughts we have, then you’d think we’re crazy. You don’t want to here that stuff and we don’t want to tell you. We have insecurities and fears just like you. We may be thinking, "Does this shirt show my gut?" Do you think we want to tell you that? Not likely.

That leads to the second reason. If we wanted you to know what we were thinking, we would tell you and then you wouldn’t have to ask. So, either we’re talking to you about it already, or we don’t want to talk to you about it. Duh!

We’re not your girlfriends. We don’t share our emotions and thoughts like women do. We’re not going to come to you complaining that our boss doesn’t understand our emotional needs. It takes a lot of trust and time for a man to sit and share his hopes and fears with you. So, when he does, listen and don’t judge. -- The Average Guy
